It is an 'Internet/Social Media' based game. The task is assigned to each player by a curator of the group. Initially, it begins with easy tasks like
"Visiting a deserted ally in the night", as game advance task start to become more threatening and final task being suicide is the culmination of the game.
But, the bigger question is here that why this game? and why play this game? the answer lies in modern realities of our social as well as family support system. Why a game is able to target our children (mostly teenagers) because in teen ages individual goes through many hormonal changes, they experience many things at the physical and emotional level, but the story does not end here. Today our children are crushed under loads of expectations from the parent, teacher, and relatives. Life around them is messy and makes no sense for them, things are already difficult and non-availability of guidance makes it super difficult. Hence, the teenager tries to escape this difficult and tricky situation and lands on the unsafe highways of cyber world where he/she finds drugs, adult content, social networks, race for likes, comments and want to project themselves like a happy individual. In order to do so, they fell prey to such sick individuals who guide them towards "Blue Whale Challange" to earn respect in the cyber world.
What can we do? we can ban the app/site/group. We can try the guilty but, will this be an improvement in the situation? The answer is NO because some day, someone will bring another challenge with more deadly and lucrative features and our vulnerable loved ones will fall prey and will leave us forever to bear the worst pain of life.
So please find clues in your children's behavior and become a support a help, a friend, try to understand his/her difficulty.
